Without a doubt there are many great cyclists who have won many stages in a grand tour but one stands out Mathieu Van Der Poel, He started racing as a young kid and got into the sport because of his dad who was also a professional cyclist.
He started his career as a cyclocross rider where he was “revealed” and gained popularity, as of now he is considered the greatest cyclocross rider of all time. After a couple years of riding he switched to road racing and that is where everything changed. He won one day races in the most incredible ways possible and last year even won one of the hardest one day races called Ronde Van Vlandreen.
